The Air Festival returns this May bank holiday with a unique show over the Mar Menor
The neighbouring municipality of San Javier is preparing to host one of the most spectacular events of the year: the International Air Festival, which will be held from 1 to 3 May on the beaches of Santiago de la Ribera.
Throughout the weekend, the skies over the Mar Menor will become the stage for an impressive aeronautical display that will attract thousands of visitors to the area.
An event that places this coastal municipality of the Mar Menor on the map.
The festival, which has already established itself as one of the most important aeronautical gatherings in southern Europe, will bring together national and international aircraft, aerobatic pilots and units from the Air Force.
A large turnout is expected, coinciding with the 1 May bank holiday, which represents a significant boost for tourism and the local economy.
The big day: Sunday 3 May
Although the event runs over three days, the most anticipated moment will be Sunday 3 May, when the main air display will take place between 10:30 and 15:00.
During this day, attendees will be able to enjoy:
• Synchronized aerobatic manoeuvres
• Military transport aircraft such as the Airbus A400M
• Helicopters and specialised aircraft
• Parachuting displays
All of this in a continuous show that will fill the sky with action and excitement.
Three days of activities for all audiences
The festival is not limited to the air show. Over the weekend there will be:
• Open training sessions for the public
• Concerts and musical activities
• Interactive areas with flight simulators
• Family and leisure spaces
A unique opportunity to enjoy the area
Events like this enhance the appeal of the Mar Menor coastline outside the high season, showing that the area offers activity, leisure and quality of life all year round.
For residents and visitors alike, the Air Festival is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a different kind of weekend, combining beach, spectacle and a festive atmosphere.
