The Berber Raids return to Los Alcázares: 2nd–5th April 2026

Los Alcázares is preparing to relive one of its most emblematic and well-attended events. From 2nd to 5th April 2026, the 25th edition of the Berber Raids in the Mar Menor celebrates its anniversary by transforming streets, beach and festival grounds into a true journey back to the 16th century. For four days, the groups will recreate the historic incursions of Berber pirates against the coastal population of the Mar Menor.

Why is this event celebrated?

During the 16th and 17th centuries, the Mar Menor coast suffered constant raids by Berber corsairs from North Africa. To recover this historical memory, since 2001 Los Alcázares has experienced a different kind of Easter. Since then, it has grown into a celebration with thousands of participants and visitors that brings tradition together.

A very intense week… here are many of the plans to enjoy the experience to the fullest:

Thursday 2nd April – Opening
It begins with an opening parade. During the day there will be tournaments, storytelling, bird flight exhibitions, medieval dance workshops, travelling entertainment and theatrical performances.
When night falls, there will be the Lighting of the Berber Flame and a torch procession to Playa de la Concha, with a pyromusical show. And the highlight of the night: a concert by Mägo de Oz.

Friday 3rd April – The Great Landing
The Great Berber Landing show will take place, and once again a top-level concert by Mojinos Escozíos that you must not miss!

Saturday 4th April – The Parade
On Saturday, the Medieval Tournament will take place at Playa de la Concha.
There will also be a Grand Parade with all the groups, dance troupes, floats and invited performers, and to close the day, a concert by the orchestra “La Tentación”.

Sunday 5th April – Closing
Last day but no less important: there will be the Medieval Tournament, children’s activities and the 16th International Cauldron Throwing Contest at Playa de la Concha. And of course, the closing show with a fire simulation in the square.

Throughout the four days there will also be:
• Medieval Market with more than 1.5 km of stalls
• Festive Camp with food and continuous atmosphere
• Arabic souk, workshops, falconry, children’s area and musical parades
• Pirate tourist train routes (2nd and 3rd April)

Save the dates from 2nd to 5th April and get ready to travel back to the 16th century on the shores of the Mar Menor!
